Liposuction is the second most commonly performed cosmetic surgical procedure in the United States. Over 200,000 liposuction procedures were performed last year. Liposuction is the procedure where excess superficial fat is removed by suction and the body is sculpted for better shape and proportion. Excess fat accumulates in many areas of the body. Even if you eat right and exercise, these fat deposits will persist. Fat cells will shrink as you loose weight but they will remain disproportionately distributed. Liposuction optimizes body contour by selectively removing excess collections of fat cells. Abdominal liposuction targets these fat deposits and permanently removes them, leaving an improved shape, a better contour, a smaller waistline, and most importantly, an improved self image.
Liposuction is not a replacement for good eating habits and exercising. It is not a weight loss procedure. Instead liposuction is a sculpting procedure that goes hand in hand with a sensible diet and exercise program.

I prefer to use cold laser liposuction. With the laser liposuction procedure, a precisely calibrated external laser scans the exterior of the body, targeting fat cells and changing the composition of the fat. Through a small incision (only 1/4 inch), the de-stabilized fat is removed. Since I use a cold laser, no heat is generated and thus no tissue burning occurs. My experience has been that comparing laser liposuction to standard tumescent liposuction, several advantages exist.
