Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Many women who see a breast surgeon are happy with the size of their breasts, but want to improve their breast shape or profile. They complain that their nipples are low, and they have droopy breasts. By performing a breast lift (mastopexy), the nipple is repositioned, and the breast is tightened to give a more youthful appearance. Saggy breasts can become perky. Many women say they have the look of a push up bra without wearing the bra. Breast lift Incisions are usually placed around the nipple, and sometimes may need to be placed on the undersurface of the breast.

  • Donut Mastopexy – Incision around the areola only
  • Vertical Mastopexy – Incision around the areola, and down the center of the breast
  • Anchor Mastopexy – Incision around the areola, down the center of the breast, and in the crease of the breast

Incisions for breast lifts vary due to the position of the nipple and areola, the amount of breast droop and the amount of loose skin. Dr. Galumbeck repositions the breast tissue creating an internal brassiere. The areolar is often reduced in size, if it is enlarged. Many times breast augmentation and breast lift can be combined to improve both the size and shape of the breast. Breast surgeries are performed in the privacy and comfort of Galumbeck Plastic Surgery’s accredited onsite operating suite. By utilizing new techniques, we are able to make smaller incisions, and shorten the length of procedures. Patients are able to return home about one hour after the procedure, and can return to work and social activities in just a few days.
